Professor of Computer Science at Virginia Tech and Associate Director for AI for Social Impact at the Sanghani Center. His research integrates artificial intelligence, machine learning, and computational social science, with a particular focus on the fair allocation of resources and AI-mediated public services. He is Past Chair of ACM SIGAI (2019\u20132025), a member of the DARPA ISAT, an ACM Distinguished Member (2023), and serves as Associate Editor for ACM TEAC, JAIR, and JAAMAS. He earned his Ph.D. from MIT and his A.B. from Harvard.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Professor of Political and Social Philosophy at the University of the Basque Country and Director of the Artificial Intelligence and Democracy <\/em>Chair at EUI, Florence. He is one of the most prominent contemporary European thinkers in the fields of political philosophy, democracy, and technological governance. His researches focus on the ethical and political challenges posed by AI and the digital society. He authored numerous essays translated into several languages, including La democracia del conocimiento<\/em> and Una teor\u00eda de la democracia compleja<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

IBM Fellow and Global Leader for Responsible AI and AI Governance at IBM Research. Her research spans from constraint reasoning and computational social choice to neuro-symbolic AI and AI governance. She has served as President of IJCAI and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of AI Research<\/em>. She is also a member of the board of the Partnership on AI, and is Co-Chair of the OECD AI Futures expert group. She led the AAAI as President (2022\u20132024).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
